Today is a pretty special and intimidating day. Trish and I are dropping our 13 year-old son Elijah off at the airport with a team from Cross Point that are returning to Nairobi, Kenya. I will be joining the team, but not until Friday.
The call and passion Elijah has for God and missions inspires me. He loves people like his mom loves people. This summer he felt called to sponsor a child from Kenya through Compassion. With Compassion’s help we are trying to make plans for Elijah to meet his Compassion child. It is going to be a great trip, I know.
Many of you that read this blog have helped stoke this passion in Elijah for missions. You left comments for him last year on his first trip; you have given money to help him raise the $2,900 needed to go back; you have sent him notes of encouragement.
Thank you for going on this journey with him to the other side of the world.
We have one request as we start the week: Would you pray for Elijah and our team as they travel and serve?
Scripture says that “the prayers of God’s people are both powerful and effective.” We would cherish powerful prayers offered up for our son, Elijah.

Our most popular blog series at RefineUs is a series called, 8 Things that Destroyed Our Marriage.
Several people have asked to have that resource all in one place. We’ve expanded the blog posts, added Scripture to each principle and provided you with a free ebook.
